Pilots and AMEs come to us for these. If your FAA letter says something else, send it over and we'll tell you straight.

PSYCH: an FAA-requested psychiatric evaluation after a mental health disclosure, deferral or denial
ADHD clearance (retrospective childhood-onset): the aviation ADHD pathway, which is separate from a standard ADHD assessment
SSRI/antidepressant: evaluations for airmen on, or seeking, the SSRI pathway
HIMS-related: substance-related events, such as a DUI, and HIMS monitoring requirements

What is a HIMS evaluation?

HIMS (Human Intervention Motivation Study) is the FAA's framework for evaluating and monitoring airmen with substance-related or certain mental health histories. A HIMS psychiatric evaluation is a detailed assessment, built around the FAA's referral question, that feeds into your medical certification through your AME.

Do I need a HIMS evaluation or a standard psychiatric evaluation?

It depends entirely on what the FAA's letter asks for. Send it over: we will review it and tell you straight what you need, including if we are not the right fit for your specific referral question.

How much does it cost?

The evaluation is $1,997. That covers the records review, the clinical interview, the required testing and the FAA report. If the FAA's request is unusually broad, or the volume of records is exceptional, we will tell you before we start rather than after. No surprise fees.

How long does it take?

We will confirm evaluation length and report turnaround when we review your letter, and we hold to the dates we give you. Deadlines matter when a certificate is waiting.

Can the evaluation be done by telehealth?

Evaluations of this kind are generally strongest in person, and many referral questions require it. We will confirm what is appropriate for your situation when we see the request.

Will you work with my AME?

Yes. With your consent we coordinate with your AME or HIMS team so the report lands where it needs to, in the form they expect.
